I’ve been to Gero a few times, and I still think it’s one of those places in Japan that’s worth spending a night in. Gero is a small onsen town in Gifu, surrounded by mountains with the Hida River running through it. It’s quiet, pretty and has a very different feel from the bigger tourist towns.
