Handbook for Baby Turtles🐢
Water turtles are another popular pet, especially red-cheeked Japanese turtles, easy to raise, inexpensive.
Easy to raise does not mean that you can raise any kind, because there is a baby turtle guide.
🐢 address.
• Cabinet / basin. Focus on space for the turtle to swim (2-3 times the height of the turtle)
• Land area (rock / platform) to dry completely
• Two bulbs or a natural sun bath
• ☀️ UVB (Helps create vitamin D3)
• 🔥 Heating fire (to bake)
• Temperature
• Water: 26-28 ° C
• Land: 30-32 ° C
👉 without UVB = risk soft carapace, slow growth
🐢 The water must be clean.
• Replacement water 2-3 times / week (or use filter)
• Chlorine rest water is used
• Do not foul / turbid water
👉 Turtles eat + shit in water = sewage is very sensitive
May add pumps + sand heads so that the water is not too stable.
🐢 Food
• Baby turtles focus on foods that contain protein and vitamins. For example, boost turtles are suitable for beginners or baby turtles.
• Fresh foods such as shrimp or red worm
• Feed the food that Nong Tao eats. If left, dew will easily waste.
🐢 Things to watch out for
• ❌ The water is too deep (baby turtles are not good at swimming)
• ❌ No place to land (drowning risk)
• ❌ Temperature swing (easily sick)
• ❌ Do not eat food (may be stressed / sick)
🐢 Trick to survive.
• Separate children (bite each other) Nong Tao will eat full food, run out of food or bite.
• Keep water quality clean regularly
• Choose food to match the size of the mouth, species and age of the turtle.
