stay at home mom -> first year teacher 🍎

if you haven't heard of Kohl's Cares definitely check it out. They have the books & matching plushies to go with it. These are great for littles. I plan on using some of these as interactive book buddies and having my students read out loud to them to help with their confidence and growth. #kohls #teacher #unfiltered #sahm #mom

... Read moreStarting my journey from being a stay-at-home mom to becoming a first-year teacher has been both exciting and challenging. One resource I found invaluable is Kohl's Cares collections, which include books paired with matching plush toys. These aren't just adorable—they serve as interactive tools that make reading sessions more engaging and encourage hesitant readers to gain confidence. In my experience, having students read aloud to a plush buddy creates a less intimidating environment. The children feel like they have a supportive listener, which reduces anxiety and promotes expressive reading. This technique fosters growth in their reading skills and builds their self-esteem simultaneously. Additionally, incorporating these interactive book buddies into lesson plans allows for a more dynamic classroom atmosphere. It also encourages peer interaction and discussion about the stories, reinforcing comprehension. For anyone transitioning into teaching, especially those like me who were previously home caregivers, integrating tactile and emotional learning aids such as those from Kohl's Cares can make a significant difference. It not only benefits the students’ educational experience but also enriches teaching methods, making daily lessons more creative and fulfilling.
