We haven’t had a stable savings since 2022
Back then, we were using the envelope method - stacking each bill denomination in a little binder with sleeves. At one point, we even had a nice cushion saved up. But ever since we moved and started managing everything on our own, it’s been a struggle.
After some heart-to-heart talks with my sister, we’ve decided that 2026 is going to be different.
Next year, we’re investing in ourselves. Weekly Bible studies with the study bibles she gifted us, journaling diligently, and budgeting with discipline.
And most importantly, we’re choosing to be selfish in the best way: putting ourselves first!!! We’ve spent too much time doing for everyone else while neglecting our own stability.
Our ‘why’ is simple: we deserve better. We try so hard to get ahead, but life keeps knocking us back.
And honestly, it feels like people aren’t even living paycheck to paycheck anymore - it’s paycheck to the day after paycheck. That reality is breaking me, but it’s also pushing me to rebuild with intention.
