Things I am enjoying lately
I’ve lived a very rigid adult life of only allowing myself things that are acceptable for me (which are things according to my family members that are poor told me are acceptable) so I’m sure you can imagine the limited and frustrating life I have created from that. So the first thing I’ve started allowing myself is:
Digital journaling. I honestly thought the idea of it was stupid plus so many of the things I saw about it always seemed like something I wouldn’t use. Recently I allowed myself to get a refurbished iPad mini 5 using affirm which sent my mom into a hissy fit (because I wasted money). I researched and found myself an off brand Apple Pencil because the idea of being able to write on my iPad just amazed me. Yet again another thing my mom did not agree with. But on the other hand it brings me joy and I think it’s the coolest thing ever.
And second: learning how self-help and manifestation can fit with Christianity. This honestly was something I just wasn’t sure about. I’ve had Christian mentors tell me that it’s demonic so I was scared to look into it but the more I read and learn about it the more I see how it aligns with biblical wisdom and I am really enjoying it.
