At McDonald's, I love a Mcchicken, and I love a Big Mac, so combining the 2 was something that I absolutely wanted to try!
To be honest, it was just alright. I had no expectations going in, so I wasn't totally disappointed, but it's not something that I would get again.

I mean, seriously, a fusion of two McDonald's legends – my beloved McChicken and the iconic Big Mac? My taste buds were practically doing a happy dance just thinking about it! I went in with an open mind, hoping for a next-level chicken burger experience.
First off, the anticipation was real. When I finally got my hands on it, taking it out of its packaging, it certainly looked the part, just like a classic Big Mac but with chicken. You could clearly see the two chicken patties layered inside, along with the familiar shredded lettuce and that signature slice of cheese. It felt substantial, visually promising a hearty meal, wrapped around that red and yellow McDonald's box.
But then came the taste test. And honestly? It was… okay. My initial excitement tapered off pretty quickly. The chicken patties themselves felt like standard McChicken patties, which are fine on their own, but here, they just didn't quite elevate the 'Big Mac' experience. They lacked that crispiness or distinctive flavor that would make them stand out in this particular build. The shredded lettuce was there, adding a bit of crunch, and the cheese melted nicely, but it felt like the sum wasn't greater than its parts.
The famous Big Mac sauce is usually the star for me, but with the chicken, it just didn't sing. It felt a bit lost, almost competing rather than complementing. I found myself wishing for something more. Maybe a spicier kick, or a different kind of tang to really tie the chicken and the sauce together. It wasn't 'bad' in the sense of being inedible, but it certainly wasn't the flavor explosion I dreamt of.
Compared to a regular Big Mac, which has that unique beefy flavor that works so well with the sauce, the chicken version felt a bit… flat. And when you compare it to a simple McChicken, which is perfect in its simplicity, the Chicken Big Mac seemed overcomplicated without much payoff. It felt like McDonald's tried to force two good things together, and they just ended up canceling each other out a little.
So, why the 6/10? It’s because while it's not terrible, it just doesn't deliver on the promise of a truly great fusion. I wouldn't call it a 'bad big mac,' but it definitely left me wanting more – more flavor, more texture, more *oomph*. For me, it's not something I'd rush to order again. If you're super curious, give it a try for the novelty, but manage your expectations. I think I'll stick to ordering my McChicken and Big Mac separately for their individual deliciousness!
