You Look Happier But This Is How Healing Looks
Someone said, “You look happier,” and I smiled…
But here’s what they didn’t see 💭
Lately, postpartum hair loss has had me deep in my feelings. It’s something people don’t talk about enough, and honestly, it’s been affecting my confidence more than I expected. I’ve caught myself avoiding the camera, even in family photos.
But today? I got up.
I got the girls dressed.
And we went blueberry picking—together, for the first time this season. 💙
It wasn’t a fancy outing. No big plans. Just sunshine, a basket, and a quiet walk through rows of berries. But it felt like a reset for my heart.
As a mom, especially after having a baby, it’s so easy to give and give and forget that we’re healing too. But these small family moments—these slow days outside, these shared smiles—they’re part of the process.
So if you’re in a season of rebuilding… of gently coming back to yourself while still showing up for your family… I see you. You’re not alone.
Healing can be loud, but sometimes it looks like this:
💙 A handful of berries.
💚 A tired but proud mama smile.
💜 And two little girls who are learning how to find joy in the simple things.
