In 2026, I want more laughter, memories & presence
We took a leap this New Year’s Eve and did something we’ve never done before, we brought our kiddos to Americana Resort in Niagara Falls to ring in the New Year together. No big reason…except that we wanted to create memories they’ll always remember.
Watching them jump with pure joy during the balloon drops reminded me how much my definition of success has changed. I used to measure it by hours worked and how busy life felt. Now, I measure it by moments like this.
Time really has become the most valuable currency.
If this is the kind of life you want, one where you can say yes to experiences, presence, and moments that matter, you don’t need to start big.
You just need to start. ✨

Reflecting on my own experiences, I’ve found that the most precious moments often come from small shifts in how we value time and presence with loved ones. For instance, last New Year’s Eve, instead of sticking to usual routines, we took a spontaneous trip to Americana Resort in Niagara Falls with our children. Watching their joy during the balloon drop celebration not only brought laughter but also deepened my appreciation for being truly present. In 2026, more and more people are realizing that success isn’t measured by how busy or productive they are but by how often they create memories that last a lifetime. This perspective shift is crucial, especially for busy parents and working professionals juggling multiple responsibilities. The keyword here is presence—being fully engaged in the moment, whether it’s playing in the backyard, exploring new places, or simply sharing a meal without distractions. One way I’ve incorporated this is by setting clear boundaries around work hours and technology use. For example, turning off notifications during family time ensures that attention stays where it belongs. Additionally, planning intentional experiences—like short getaways or even unique local outings—helps build a treasure trove of special memories without needing extravagant budgets. I’ve also noticed that prioritizing freedom, not just financially but in how we choose to spend our time, enhances overall happiness. Building side hustles or online businesses can offer the flexibility to say yes to these precious moments. It’s about aligning income with lifestyle so that time becomes our most valuable currency, as the 2026 goals emphasize. If you’re thinking about how to make 2026 the year of more laughter, memories, and presence, start small. Maybe it’s scheduling a weekly family game night, taking a weekend road trip, or simply being more mindful and grateful during everyday interactions. These steps create the foundation for a life rich in moments that truly matter.
