Sometimes we all need someone cheering from the sidelines.
Have you ever had someone believe in you louder than you believed in yourself?
A couple weeks ago, my son was competing at the regional track and field championships in the 800m.
On the walk from the parking lot to the event, he gave me one simple request:
"Mom, don't cheer like you did at cross country. Just quietly watch."
I had every intention of listening.
I failed spectacularly. 😂
About halfway through the first lap, I couldn't help myself.
"GO JAX! YOU'RE DOING AMAZING, BUDDY!"
And then he looked over, smiled, and gave me a thumbs up.
That tiny moment stuck with me.
Because the truth is, whether we're kids on a track, professionals building careers, or women trying to create a second stream of income, we all face moments where we're unsure of ourselves.
We wonder if we're good enough.
We wonder if we'll succeed.
We wonder if the effort will be worth it.
Last week, on our way to this event, I reminded him of something I hope he remembers for life:
Some days you win.
Some days you don't.
Someone has to finish first.
Someone has to finish last.
But success isn't always about the medal.
It's about showing up.
Doing your best.
Learning something.
And having the courage to keep going.
That's exactly how building a business works too.
Most people don't need another critic.
They need someone in their corner reminding them they're capable, helping them through the hard days, and celebrating the wins along the way.
That's the kind of mentor I strive to be.
The same way I was cheering for Jax from the sidelines, I'll be cheering for you too.

In my experience, having someone cheering from the sidelines is often more powerful than we realize. That subtle encouragement, whether loud or quiet, can lift our spirits and renew our determination when facing challenges. I've witnessed this during community sports events where parents, friends, and coaches provide more than just noise—they offer belief. That thumbs-up moment, simple as it may seem, often says, “I see you, I’m proud, keep going.” This extends beyond athletics. For entrepreneurs and anyone pursuing personal goals, having a mentor or supporter who reminds you of your capabilities creates a positive ripple effect. Those encouraging words can turn doubt into motivation and fear into perseverance. It’s not just about winning medals or reaching milestones; it’s about the journey of showing up every day, learning from setbacks, and celebrating small victories. Sometimes, people resist overt cheering or visible support, like the request to “just quietly watch.” But even understated support is deeply felt. As the OCR content humorously points out, the unspoken need for encouragement often surprises us. We may underestimate how much someone quietly rooting for us means. Whether you are a parent, a professional, or anyone on a challenging path, remember the power of presence and encouragement. Being in someone's corner—offering a smile, a thumbs-up, or a simple ‘you’ve got this’—can be the fuel they need to keep moving forward, even on the toughest days.

The people who succeed usually have one thing in common: Someone in their corner.❤️ Whether it's on the track...or building a business. The right support matters.
