Tarot 101: The Hermit Card

Welcome to our next tarot card lesson. These won't be in order because I'm not in order, and that's okay. Last week, we talked about the tower card, and this week, I'm bringing you the hermit. (Scroll through to see keywords, colours, symbols, related prompts, and more about the hermit card)

The Hermit tells us it may be time to spend a little time alone and seek answers from our inner world. Ultimately, there's a lot we know without the cards, and the hermit wants us to see that. This card can tell us when it's time to do a little Introspection, for neurodivergents it may be a sign. it's time for quiet alone time.

In reverse, though, the Hermit can let us know we've taken alone time too far, and we're now isolating.

As an anxious neurodivergent cancer rising The Hermit visits me often. Are you acquainted with The Hermit card in your card pulls? Let's talk in the comments.

... Read moreThe Hermit card is rich with symbolism that offers profound insights when it appears in tarot readings. At the heart of its imagery is the lantern, symbolizing light, clarity, and guidance — a beacon when navigating life's challenges. The staff represents self-support and resilience, reminding us that true strength often comes from within. Colors associated with the Hermit, such as white for new beginnings and spirituality, blue for healing and peace, and black for wisdom and unconscious knowledge, further deepen its messages. These hues invite us to explore our inner landscapes with honesty and courage. For those of us who identify as neurodivergent or face anxiety, the Hermit card frequently appears to signal the importance of carving out quiet, reflective time. This solitude isn’t about isolation but about reconnecting with our inner wisdom and intuition. It encourages us to find answers not from external sources, but from the stillness within. However, when the Hermit is reversed, it warns of potential pitfalls like excessive isolation or withdrawal, which can lead to loneliness or feeling lost. Recognizing this flip side can be crucial in maintaining a balanced approach to solitude. Engaging with the Hermit through journaling or prompts such as "What can the Hermit teach me if I truly listen?" can foster personal growth and greater self-awareness. For those seeking love or relationship clarity, this card often points towards understanding oneself better before connecting deeply with others. Embracing the Hermit's lessons can be transformative. It's a gentle reminder that sometimes, spending time alone isn’t about loneliness but about gathering the wisdom needed to face the outside world with confidence and peace.
