Hi, everyone. If you're new here, welcome! My name is Morgan. I'm a writer who's working on publishing a book next year, prayerfully in March.
I've been writing since elementary school and never lost the love of creating characters and giving them worlds to explore.
On my page, you'll see writing updates, writer posts, bookish posts, anything from mini reviews to recommendations, as well as some other life things I feel like sharing.
I'm a total mood reader, so I read a little bit of everything non-fiction to middle grade.
If we have anything in common, let me know in the comments!

And honestly, my hobbies are what keep me creatively fueled and grounded. Beyond the endless drafts and character development, I truly believe these passions make me a better writer and a happier person!
First up, let's talk about Watching Anime. It's not just about entertainment; it's a huge source of inspiration for me! The intricate world-building, the dynamic character arcs, and the emotional depth in so many series often spark new ideas for my own stories. Whether it’s a gripping shonen adventure or a heartwarming slice-of-life, I find myself taking notes (mentally, of course!) on pacing, dialogue, and how to build tension. It’s a fantastic way to escape my own narrative and dive into someone else’s brilliant creation.
Then there's Reading, which probably isn’t a surprise for a writer! I’m a total mood reader, meaning I pick up whatever calls to me at the moment, from non-fiction to middle grade. But if I had to pick favorites, I absolutely adore Fantasy, Contemporary, and Magical Realism. There’s something so captivating about being whisked away to another world, or finding profound magic in the everyday. Books are my greatest teachers, and I learn so much about storytelling from authors like Elise Bryant, Marissa Meyer, and Kiera Cass. Their unique voices and masterful plots constantly push me to refine my own craft. When I’m reading, I’m not just enjoying a story; I’m studying it.
My more hands-on creative outlets include Hand-Lettering and Drawing. Sometimes, after hours of staring at a screen, I need to get away from words for a bit. Hand-lettering is incredibly therapeutic – focusing on the curves and flourishes of letters is meditative. And drawing, even if it's just quick sketches, helps me visualize my characters or a particular setting I'm struggling with in my manuscript. It's like a different language for my creative brain, offering a fresh perspective when I hit a writer's block.
These hobbies aren't just time-fillers; they're integral to my writing process. For instance, my love for tropes like Friends To Lovers and Found Family isn't just from reading them; it's from observing similar dynamics in anime or even practicing drawing characters interacting. They remind me of the powerful connections we seek in stories and in life. So, whether I’m deep into a novel, watching a new anime series, or just doodling, I’m always, in some way, feeding my writer's soul. What are your go-to hobbies that fuel your passions?
