✨Picnic food recommendation✨
As the name suggests, everything at @zenbuaburi135 is flame-seared. Besides Oshi sushi, they’ve now started serving Aburi Kimbap. Some of the items are a bit saucier than my liking, but overall it’s tasty and I really recommend their crispy "Kaori Oshi sushi".

When it comes to picnic food that combines convenience with gourmet flavors, Zenbu Aburi’s flame-seared sushi and Aburi Kimbap offerings stand out impressively. Having visited the restaurant on several occasions, I can say the flame-searing technique elevates the taste by adding a subtle smoky layer to each bite. This method not only intensifies the umami but also gives the sushi a pleasing texture contrast, especially with their signature Kaori Oshi sushi, which I found to be wonderfully crispy and aromatic. One appealing feature is the new deluxe Aburi platter, which provides excellent variety—33 pieces including kimbap, inari, and five types of Aburi oshi sushi made in sets of three. Priced at $79, it’s a great choice to share during a picnic or casual gathering. Although some pieces were a bit saucier for my preference, the overall flavor balance held well, catering to those who enjoy a richer taste. A helpful tip for visitors is to come after 6:30 pm to take advantage of the 15% discount (excluding platters). This makes it more budget-friendly to explore and try different items off their menu. The Richmond location is also convenient to access and perfect for picking up a ready-made picnic feast. Beyond just sushi, the addition of Aburi Kimbap is a creative twist worth trying, especially if you're a fan of Korean flavors blended with Japanese culinary techniques. It’s a unique offering that differentiates Zenbu Aburi from typical sushi spots. For anyone planning outdoor dining in Vancouver’s spring-like weather, this spot is a dependable go-to for fresh, flavorful, and visually appealing dishes. In summary, whether you’re a seasoned sushi lover or looking for a tasty picnic meal with a bit of a gourmet touch, Zenbu Aburi’s flame-seared items and happy hour deals add value and enjoyment to your food adventure.
