PS5 Tips | Part 2
Building on my previous insights, I'm so excited to share more of my go-to PS5 TIPS PART 2! I've been deep-diving into the settings and everyday use of my console, and I've picked up some fantastic tricks that I think will really enhance your gaming experience. These aren't just generic suggestions, but things I've personally found incredibly useful. First off, let's talk about Storage Management. I don't know about you, but I'm constantly downloading new games and running out of space. A huge tip I found is to move your PS4 games to an extended USB storage device. It's super easy: just go to Settings > Storage > Extended Storage, and you can transfer games. This frees up the super-fast internal SSD solely for your PS5 titles, ensuring they load quickly. For PS5 games, if you're not actively playing them, consider 'offloading' them by deleting them but keeping your save data in the cloud. Re-downloading them later is often quicker than you think, especially with a good internet connection, and it keeps your SSD lean and mean. Next up are some tweaks for your DualSense Controller. While the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback are amazing, they can drain the battery pretty fast. I found that by going to Settings > Accessories > Controllers (General) > Vibration Intensity and Trigger Effect Intensity, you can lower them slightly. You still get the immersive feel, but your controller lasts much longer between charges. Also, don't forget to customize your button assignments under Accessibility if a certain game layout isn't working for you – it's a game-changer for comfort! I've also been playing around with Visual and Audio Settings to get the absolute best out of my games. If you have a compatible TV, make sure your HDMI 2.1 port is correctly configured for 120Hz output (Settings > Screen and Video > Video Output > 120 Hz Output). This makes a noticeable difference in supported games, offering much smoother gameplay. Also, don't forget the 3D Audio for Headphones (Settings > Sound > 3D Audio for Headphones). Even with regular stereo headphones, experimenting with the profiles can dramatically improve spatial awareness in games, making you feel more immersed. I was skeptical at first, but it really works! Another lifesaver for me has been optimizing Rest Mode settings. Instead of fully turning off your PS5, Rest Mode is fantastic for keeping games updated and charging your controllers. Go to Settings > System > Power Saving > Features Available in Rest Mode. I always make sure 'Stay Connected to the Internet' is enabled for updates and 'Supply Power to USB Ports' is set to 'Always' or '3 Hours' so my controller is always ready to go. This way, I can jump straight into gaming without waiting for downloads or a charged controller. I hope these PS5 TIPS PART 2 help you get even more enjoyment out of your incredible console. Happy gaming!
