How Planning a Surprise Party Sparked My Passion
A month and a half before my husband’s birthday, I started secretly planning a surprise party. He had no clue. The day before the event, I left work early to grab all the supplies and food—Meanwhile, he kept calling me all day, venting about how everything was going wrong for him too.
On top of that, he was off work that day, and I had to meet up with him pick up my car—so I was juggling errands and trying to keep the party hidden. The next day, I had just three hours to cook, decorate, and set up everything. Thankfully, I had helping hands .
The wild rush of coordinating it all—while keeping it a surprise—made me realize how much I loved the challenge. But more than just planning the fun, I fell in love with the logistics: being the person who handles the vendors, makes the calls, coordinates the meetings, and becomes that emotional support when people feel overwhelmed. Because sometimes the biggest reason we don’t go all out for our events… is simply because it feels like too much.
That’s when I knew: I wanted to help people feel less stressed and more celebrated.
