About me

Here’s a little about me. If we haven’t met yet, here’s my story in bite-sized pieces:

🌎 Born in Michigan. My father was from Michigan, and so was I. My mother was born in Jamaica 🇯🇲, and her parents were both from 🇱🇧. So, I’m a little bit American, a little bit Jamaican, and a little bit Lebanese.

🏡 Moved to Florida when I was 3. Lived in the same house from age 3 to 29, in Fort Lauderdale. Only moved out of my parents house when I moved overseas. In Lebanese culture, you don’t move out – unless you’re getting married.

🚨 Was set to be a police officer. My father was a police officer, and my life was heading that way, too. But when he was killed in the line of duty in a plane crash when I was 18 years old, I walked away from that path. Life had other plans, so I listened.

🌍 Lived in 6 countries:

   🇹🇭 Bangkok – 11 years

   🇵🇭 Manila – 1 year

   🇱🇰 Colombo – 1 year

   🇪🇸 Barcelona – 3 years

   🇪🇸 Marbella – 1 year

   🇵🇹 Lisbon – 1 year

   🇬🇧 London – 1 year

📱 Started the first digital agency in Southeast Asia. Back when social media was just getting started! Sold it after it became the biggest in the region.

☕ Never had a sip of coffee in my life. Not even once. Yes, I survived life in Europe without coffee!

✈️ Travel is my full-time life, I sold everything I own. Last year: 99 nights on cruise ships, 227 nights in hotels. No matter where I am, that's home!

🎥 I’m building a travel show: Behind-the-scenes of how the hospitality industry really works. Think of it as Anthony Bourdain meets Undercover Boss (but with a passport).

💻 I help hospitality brands turn storytelling into ROI: From social media strategy to influencer campaigns, photography, and workshops, I love helping destinations and hotels make a big impact online.

🎤 Public speaker on all things hospitality: With a little humor and a lot of tactical advice.

⚡ Quirky fun facts:

- I wake up at 5am every single day, I am addicted to sunrises.

- I’m the guy who will always choose an aisle seat on a plane. Even though I love the window seat more, I hate bothering people if I want to get up.

- And I don’t pack light – ever. 2 big checked-in suitcases everywhere I go. I've never done a trip with only a carry-on.

Here's 10 lessons I learned in 2024:

🌧️ Embrace the beauty surrounding you, no matter the weather.

❤️ Kindness can transform everyday encounters into meaningful connections.

📸 Photography captures memories; find joy in the places you visit.

⏳ Recognizing excellence takes time; appreciate the journey.

🏆 Being ranked in your industry is a reflection of hard work and passion.

🤝 Networking brings opportunities; cherish the connections you make.

🤗 Hospitality means giving warmth and generosity to all.

🏨 Memorable experiences often come from exquisite surroundings.

🌅 Sunrises offer a perfect perspective to start the day.

🎉 Participating in industry events fuels your passion and knowledge.

... Read moreYou know, looking back, it's incredible how one moment can completely redirect your life's compass. When I shared that my father was a police officer and I was set to follow in his footsteps, that was a future I genuinely envisioned. But life, as it often does, had other plans. Losing him at 18 wasn't just a personal tragedy; it was a profound fork in the road that forced me to re-evaluate everything. It was a stark reminder of life's fragility and the importance of truly living. I realized then that my path wouldn't be defined by a badge, but by experiences, by curiosity, and by embracing the unknown. That pivotal moment, years ago, truly set the stage for the journey I've been on for over three decades now. It wasn't a sudden leap into global travel; it was a gradual evolution. From those early days in Florida, stepping away from a conventional career, I found myself drawn to the emerging digital world. Building one of Southeast Asia's first digital agencies felt like pioneering a new frontier, much like my father did in his own way. It taught me resilience, innovation, and how to connect with people on a global scale—skills that are indispensable today. People sometimes ask about the "performance" aspect of what I do, especially with the travel show and public speaking. While I'm certainly not an actor in the traditional sense, I've come to appreciate the art of storytelling. Every time I step on stage or craft a narrative for a hospitality brand, I'm sharing a piece of my journey, my insights, and my passion. It’s about building a connection, conveying genuine experiences, and inspiring others. My life itself has been a series of acts, each chapter adding to the evolving story. I've learned that whether you're building a business or exploring new cultures, how you tell your story can make all the difference. One of the most profound lessons I've carried through all these years, something that resonates deeply with the spirit of travel and connection, is that KINDNESS IS FREE. It's a simple truth, yet incredibly powerful. Whether I'm navigating a bustling market in Bangkok, meeting fellow travelers, or collaborating with industry leaders, a kind word, a genuine smile, or a helpful gesture can transform an encounter. This philosophy underpins everything I do, from how I interact with people to how I approach my work in hospitality. It's about giving warmth and generosity, as I mentioned in my recent reflections. These aren't just business strategies; they're life strategies. The past "30 years" have been a whirlwind of unexpected turns, cultural immersion, and continuous learning. From the initial grief to establishing a thriving career across continents, it’s been a testament to embracing change. Each country I've called home, every challenge overcome, has added a layer to who I am. It's a reminder that life rarely follows a straight line, and the detours are often where the most valuable lessons are found. My journey continues to unfold, always with an eye for the next adventure and a heart open to new experiences.

iOS 18! Let’s talk about it!
Every time there’s a new iOS, it does something to my little heart, I start planning in my head how I’m going to use new features to help me not only become more productive at my job or tasks, but also become a better me. I’ll be adding how I plan to use these features at work and or better myself.
