When you got to take it old school!

This winter is not being kind to my skin. And Bath & Body works & VS is just not cutting it!!!

2025/11/18 Edited to

... Read moreWinter can be harsh on our skin, often leading to dryness, irritation, and discomfort. Modern commercial products are popular, but sometimes they just don’t deliver the hydration and protection you need. This is when turning to tried-and-true old-school skincare remedies can be a lifesaver. One classic approach is using natural oils such as jojoba, coconut, or almond oil. These oils are rich in vitamins and fatty acids that help replenish the skin’s moisture barrier, making them ideal for combating winter dryness. Applying a light layer after showering can lock in moisture effectively. Another traditional remedy is the use of honey masks. Honey is a natural humectant, meaning it attracts and holds onto moisture. A simple honey application left on the skin for 15–20 minutes before rinsing can boost hydration and soothe irritation. Humidifiers also provide an old-school solution by adding moisture back into the indoor air which can dry out your skin during the cold months. Using a humidifier in your bedroom while you sleep is an easy way to keep skin from becoming parched. Don’t forget the importance of gentle cleansing. Over-washing or using harsh soaps can strip your skin of essential oils. Opt for mild cleansers or even simple milk or oatmeal-based recipes for a soothing effect. Lastly, traditional home remedies like oatmeal baths can help calm inflamed skin and provide a protective barrier against the drying effects of winter weather. Simply add colloidal oatmeal to a warm bath and soak for 15-20 minutes. Combining these natural, old-school skincare techniques can provide a powerful defense against the challenges of winter skin care—reducing the reliance on commercial brands that may not meet your skin’s needs this season.
