How I Got Good Grades in Nursing School🩺

🩺🩷I am currently in my last semester of musing school and these are tips I used to help me pass:

TAKE NOTES IN CLASS ✍🏽

- I 100% recommend a IPad + Pencil.

- Highlight or underline all key points the teacher is saying.

- Write down any extra information they might mention.

USE A WHITEBOARD 👩🏽‍🏫

- Write down information instead of typing it out, it helps you remember better.

- Create concept maps: write down everything about a topic or disease so you can see how everything connects.

- I use certain colors for each disease to help them stand out to me.

CREATE FLASHCARDS 💳

- Create flashcards for certain things like medical terminology.

- When studying medical terminology break the words down by prefix and suffix, it makes it so much easier.

TEACH BACK THE INFORMATION👩🏽‍🏫

- If you can teach it to someone then you know it.

- Find someone who is willing to listen and just talk to them about the topic. Act like you are the teacher.

- You can also recorded your self to go back and see what you missed.

CREATE PRACTICE QUESTIONS WITH CHAT GTP 💬

- Drop your class PowerPoint or notes into chat GTP and tell it to create you practice questions.

YOU HAVE TO BE SPECIFIC‼️

- I say “create me practice questions solely based on information from the sources, make the questions multiple choice, NCLEX style, application based, and provide the correct answer and rational after each question”.

*BE SURE YOU HAVE STUDIED BEFORE SO YOU WILL KNOW IF THE ANSWER IS RIGHT OR WRONG*❗️

STAY ORGANIZED 🧹

- Nursing school is a lot so make sure you are organized!

- I used Notion for my todo list, assignment list, and to create my study guides.

- As soon as you get your syllabus, create your assignment list so you never miss anything!

**Let me know if you guys want a Notion tour or setup walk through**🩷

FIND YOUR STUDY METHOD‼️

- Everyone learns differently, so figure out what works best for you early on and stick with it!!

YOU GUYS GOT THIS! No-one is smarter than the anyone else, just figure out how you are ment to learn and apply yourself !

... Read moreNursing school is a challenging yet rewarding journey, and developing effective study habits is crucial for success. One of the most impactful strategies is active engagement during lectures. Utilize tools such as an iPad and Apple Pencil to take detailed notes, highlighting key points as they are mentioned in class. This helps reinforce important concepts in your memory. Another helpful method is creating visual aids like concept maps on a whiteboard. This allows you to see how different topics connect and can aid in better understanding complex subjects. Flashcards are also beneficial for mastering medical terminology. Break down terms by their prefixes and suffixes, ensuring you understand their meanings and applications. This method not only aids memorization but also boosts your confidence in using medical language effectively. Additionally, practice teaching the material to someone else; this is a great way to gauge your understanding. If you can explain it clearly, you know the content well. Consider recording yourself to identify areas needing improvement. Leverage technology by using AI tools like ChatGPT to generate practice questions from your notes. Be specific in your requests to receive targeted, NCLEX-style questions, ensuring you are adequately prepared for your exams. Staying organized throughout your nursing program is vital. Applications like Notion can facilitate tracking assignments, creating to-do lists, and managing study schedules. Ensure you maintain a clear overview of your commitments to reduce stress and enhance productivity. Explore various study methods to find what resonates with you. Each student learns differently, so be adaptable and focus on techniques that yield the best results for your unique style. Remember, consistent application of these principles will help you thrive in nursing school and prepare for your future career in healthcare.
