What could I build if I really trusted myself?

This whole government shutdown… SNAP, Medicare, all of it on pause.

People are scared, and I get it.

But something in me keeps saying…pay attention.

This is what it looks like when the same hand that feeds can also take away.

And it hit me, this is why I need to build what’s mine.

Why we all do.

Not out of fear, but out of peace.

Because I don’t ever want to feel that kind of helplessness again.

I want to know that my gifts, my work, my ideas… can keep my family and I fed no matter what happens in Washington.

I’m not mad at anyone who’s struggling.

I’ve definitely been there.

I just think maybe this moment is asking us all to look inward and say…

What do I already know how to do?

What could I build if I really trusted myself?

Somebody’s going to come out of this season with a new skill, a small business, a sense of calm they didn’t know they had.

And that’s the person I’m aiming to be.

So yeah… today I’m choosing faith, not fear.

And I hope you will too.

Here’s to building peace that can’t be shut down.

However, this moment also presents a unique opportunity to reflect inward and focus on personal resilience and independence. Building something of your own, whether it be a new skill, a small business, or a side hustle, can provide a sense of peace that no external circumstances can shut down. Trusting yourself means recognizing the gifts, talents, and ideas you already possess and believing in your ability to transform them into sources of sustainable income. This is not about reacting from fear but rather taking proactive steps from a place of faith and calm. Developing marketable skills or entrepreneurial ventures fosters not only financial security but also personal growth and confidence. Many people find that during challenging periods, they discover strengths and capacities they hadn’t accessed before. This period of pause and reflection can lead to acquiring new knowledge or starting passion projects that turn into income-generating activities. Embracing vulnerability and uncertainty encourages creativity, innovation, and adaptability — essential traits for anyone aspiring to thrive independently. Starting small is perfectly fine — even if you feel you don’t have much right now. Incremental progress and consistent effort build momentum over time. Whether it's launching a side hustle, freelancing, or developing products and services, these endeavors can gradually supplement or replace lost income sources. Importantly, this approach reduces dependence on unpredictable external systems and empowers you to sustain your family and yourself. Choosing faith over fear means believing that you can navigate and shape your own future. It means turning inward and asking, "What can I build if I really trusted myself?" Empowering yourself with this mindset and taking concrete steps elevates your sense of control, peace, and purpose. Ultimately, cultivating self-trust fosters a resilient foundation on which you can build a life that withstands external uncertainties.
