No better feeling than truly caring & developing a patients trust 🦷 #dental #dentalhygienist #rdh #healthcareworkers
As a dental hygienist, one of the most rewarding parts of my job is building a trusting relationship with my patients. When the world seems to be taking the "care" out of healthcare, personal connection and empathy become even more vital in delivering effective treatment. I’ve learned that patients not only come for dental cleanings or treatments—they come seeking assurance that their oral health matters and that they are in safe hands. Taking time to listen to their concerns and explaining procedures clearly helps ease anxiety and build confidence. Trust is a two-way street. When patients feel cared for as individuals rather than just another appointment, they are more likely to follow through with recommended care plans and maintain regular visits. This, in turn, fosters better long-term oral health outcomes. Healthcare can sometimes feel rushed, but making moments for genuine connection transforms these experiences. Small acts like a reassuring smile, patience during sensitive procedures, or remembering personal details make a significant difference. Ultimately, dental hygiene is not just about cleaning teeth; it’s about caring for people. Carrying this mindset every day motivates me to uphold the highest standards of care, ensuring every patient feels respected, valued, and looked after.
