POV: your job title is basically ‘do everything’ 😭
A lot of people think working at a gas station is just standing at the register… whole time we be:
• Cleaning
• Stocking
• Running around nonstop
• Helping customers
• Fixing machines
• Organizing shelves
• Handling random chaos every 5 minutes 😭
It may not be glamorous, but this is honest work and I’m proud of myself for showing up and getting it done — especially as a mom trying to build a better future one shift at a time. 💙
And whew… being short staffed really builds character because WHY am I cashier, stocker, cleaner, therapist, and emotional support all in one shift? 😂

Working at a gas station often gets overlooked as just a simple job, but it truly demands a blend of multitasking skills and endurance. From my own experience, being the sole person responsible for everything—cashiering, cleaning, stocking shelves, and even acting as an emotional support to customers—can be both exhausting and fulfilling. It’s a job that requires quick thinking on your feet as unpredictable situations can arise every few minutes. One challenging aspect that not many realize is maintaining positivity and patience while serving diverse customers, especially during peak hours. Being short-staffed often means that you have to switch roles seamlessly without any formal breaks, which can quickly build your character and resilience. Despite the chaos, the sense of accomplishment that comes with completing each shift successfully is rewarding. For working parents like myself, it’s about more than just the job—it’s about creating stability and a better future for the family. Every day teaches valuable lessons in time management, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence. If you’ve ever assumed working at a gas station is an easy, monotonous job, this insight might change your perspective. It’s hardworking, demanding, and often underappreciated labor that keeps daily life moving smoothly for the community. For anyone juggling multiple responsibilities in their job, this relatable story of perseverance serves as a reminder that dedication truly pays off.
