You know that feeling after an 'Upperbody day' when your 'arms feeling swole'? Today's speed bench with chains was all about chasing that explosive power. I used to think lifting heavy was the only way, but incorporating a 'Speed day' into my routine has totally transformed my strength. It's not just about how much you can lift, but how fast you can move it! For me, it's about building functional strength that helps me keep up with everything, from hauling groceries to chasing after the kids. Working with chains adds this incredible progressive resistance – it's lighter at the bottom of the lift and heavier at the top, forcing you to accelerate through the entire movement. And those '9 sets of 3' with a '40 sec break'? That short rest period is crucial for maintaining explosiveness. Then, hitting those '35lbs for 25 reps' and '40 for 22.5 reps lol' on the dumbbell bench press? That wasn't just for a pump; it's about building muscular endurance, which is key for overall fitness and preventing fatigue. Trust me, I 'Survived... barely'! Beyond the bench, there are so many ways to boost upper body speed. Think about plyometric push-ups – exploding off the floor! Or medicine ball chest passes, where you throw the ball as hard and fast as you can. Even speed rows with lighter weights, focusing on pulling quickly and powerfully, can make a huge difference. The goal is always to move the weight with maximum intent and velocity. For all my ladies out there, especially those balancing 'momlife' and fitness, don't shy away from power and speed training! There's often this misconception that women should only stick to lighter weights or cardio. But building upper body strength and power is incredibly empowering. It boosts your metabolism, improves bone density, and honestly, there's nothing quite like feeling strong and capable. I've found that these types of workouts give me so much energy and confidence, not just in the gym, but in my day-to-day life. If you're new to powerlifting or speed work, start slow, focus on form, and gradually increase the intensity. Don't be afraid to ask for help or spotters. We're all in this together, and seeing more 'kobiety na siłowni' (women at the gym) pushing their limits is truly inspiring! Remember, every rep, every set, every 'Speed day' is a step towards a stronger, more powerful you. So, what's stopping you from unleashing your inner power?
