Do not grow weary ✨

2025/7/4 Edited to

... Read moreIt’s funny how life throws unexpected turns, isn’t it? There are days when I wake up feeling energized and ready to tackle anything, and then there are those other days… the ones where the sheer thought of 'doing good' feels like an uphill battle. The phrase 'do not grow weary' has become such a lifeline for me during these moments, especially when I reflect on the powerful words of Galatians 6:9. I remember a period when I was pouring so much into a project, trying to help others, and honestly, I felt completely drained. Doubts started creeping in: 'Is this even making a difference? Am I just wasting my energy?' That's when I truly understood what it meant to 'grow weary in doing good.' It’s not just physical exhaustion; it’s a spiritual and emotional fatigue that can make you want to give up entirely. But then, I'd come across that verse again, often through a friend, or simply by seeing it in my daily devotions: 'Even when the journey is long, do not grow weary. God is strengthening you for every step, and His grace will carry you through.' This wasn't just a nice sentiment; it was a profound promise. It reminded me that the strength doesn't always have to come from my own reserves. In fact, it often *can't*. What I've learned is that 'not growing weary' isn't about never feeling tired or discouraged. It's about how you respond to those feelings. For me, it starts with remembering whose work I'm doing. When I'm 'doing good' – whether it's helping a neighbor, contributing to my community, or simply trying to be a kinder person – I'm participating in something bigger than myself. And when it gets tough, I consciously pivot to trusting that 'God is strengthening you for every step.' This isn't passive; it's an active surrender and reliance on His divine support. His 'grace will carry you through.' This part is incredibly comforting. It tells me that even when my own efforts fall short, His unmerited favor is there to bridge the gap. It's like having an invisible hand gently guiding and supporting you when your legs feel like buckling. So, how do I practically apply this? I’ve found a few things help. First, prayer. Simply talking to God, admitting my weariness, and asking for renewed strength makes a huge difference. Second, connecting with my faith community. Sharing my struggles and hearing how others overcome similar challenges reminds me I'm not alone on this journey. Third, celebrating small victories. Sometimes, we're so focused on the 'long journey' that we forget to acknowledge the steps we have taken. And finally, regularly revisiting scriptures like Galatians 6:9. These 'top quotes' of faith are powerful reminders of the enduring truth. They keep my spirit anchored when the waves of life threaten to capsize my resolve. If you're feeling that familiar pull of weariness today, please know you’re not alone. Take a moment, breathe, and lean into that incredible promise: God's grace is more than enough to carry you through. Keep going; your efforts, big or small, are seen and valued.
