Possible Drowning at Verdun Beach: Search Underway
A dramatic rescue operation is unfolding at Verdun Beach in Montreal after a young man in his twenties went missing in the water Saturday evening around 5:30 p.m.
Witnesses say they saw him struggling to swim. Several beachgoers jumped in to help, but he vanished beneath the surface before they could reach him.
Emergency crews quickly responded, closing the beach and launching a large-scale search. Two rescue boats from the fire department and one from the Montreal police are currently combing the waters as anxious onlookers watch from the shore.
