Dear Men, don’t be a Jerk!

In my experience, addressing toxic masculinity is crucial for building healthier relationships and communities. Toxic behaviors, like bullying and dehumanization often linked to rigid ideas of masculinity, do more harm than good—not only to those targeted but also to men themselves who feel pressured to conform to harmful stereotypes. I've noticed that true strength lies in empathy, respect, and kindness—not in dominance or aggression. Rejecting toxic manhood means embracing vulnerability and understanding the impact of our words and actions. It's important to challenge harmful attitudes such as queerphobia and sexism, which perpetuate inequality and hurt many people. Engaging in open conversations about these issues helps create safer environments where everyone can express themselves freely without fear of judgment or discrimination. Holding men accountable without shaming but encouraging positive behavior changes can foster real growth. Ultimately, redefining masculinity in a way that promotes equality and kindness benefits everyone—helping men experience more meaningful connections and reducing unnecessary suffering caused by aggression or bias. To all men out there: being a real man means standing up against toxic behaviors and standing for respect and love instead.
