Safety habits that give me peace as a woman

Living alone can feel risky — especially as a woman. You might live in the safest neighborhood with upgraded locks and appliances, but peace of mind doesn’t come automatically.

The first night in my new home, I was nervous.

New town, new neighborhood, no familiar faces… and my brain kept asking:

Am I safe? Is my house safe?

To finally feel calm and secure, here’s what I did ⬇️

1️⃣ Installed a Ring alarm system

My # 1 peace of mind investment. Every window has a sensor, plus I have a motion detector and a front-door camera. Even when I’m away, I can still keep an eye on things.

2️⃣ Replaced all my fire alarm batteries 🔋

Simple, but easy to forget — and it matters.

3️⃣ Changed the garage code

Never assume the old one’s safe. A fresh start = real security.

4️⃣ Added a carbon monoxide detector

Because invisible risks are just as real.

5️⃣ Got a kitchen fire extinguisher 🧯

Quick access can make all the difference in an emergency.

Living alone doesn’t have to mean living in fear.

It’s about being prepared, aware, and confident in your own space.

You deserve to feel safe in the home you’ve built. 💪🏽🏠
