Crocheting scarf help

I’ve been trying to follow this pattern for a scarf but idk what to do whenever I get to end of the row.

I would like to know how to hide the other color(in this case it’s the gray yarn) so that only the black show.

you drop the yarn before the last stitch, then after you turn and make the first stitch of the new row, you need to pick it back up.

It seems like you’re ch1 with the same color and not the new one? Or you’re picking it up as your crochet in a way. But I would frog it and then right at your last gray, drop it and pick up the darker color to finish and ch1. Hope that makes sense!!
