Ever have a book related surprised Pikachu face

Ok. So in no way shape or for is this a bad thing and no way am I coming for HP Mallory. In fact one of my favorite things about reading both Ana and Christian’ POVs of 50 Shades was seeing the evolution of the author. With that said, I have to say the writing is completely different from Grave New World to Pride and Poltergeists in the Dulcie O’Neil series. Now I will say, there is 2 years between the 2 books and I know HP is a very active author. The syntax and voice is very different between the books. Yes, I know in the books, new character POVs are established but they still are very different from how they normally talked. I know that, myself included in this, will change up vernacular when starting a new series but not in the middle (or tail end in this case) of a series. Don’t get me wrong I love HP Mallory and I love this series. It’s just something that I’ve noticed while reading. #HPMallory #DulcieONeilSeries #currentlyreading

... Read moreHP Mallory is known for captivating readers with her imaginative storytelling and engaging characters. In her Dulcie O'Neil series, the transition from 'Grave New World' to 'Pride and Poltergeists' highlights a significant shift in her writing style. Such changes can be attributed to the author’s growth and experimentation at different stages of her career. Authors often evolve in their narrative voice, syntax, and character development as they continue to craft new stories. This evolution not only showcases an author’s journey but also reflects the changing demands of the literary market and audience expectations. Readers may notice a variation in how characters express themselves, indicating a broader range of emotional depth or changes in thematic focus. HP Mallory’s ability to experiment with her characters' point of view (POV) allows readers to experience familiar narratives in refreshing ways. Such shifts are not uncommon, particularly after significant time gaps between releases, as is the case here with a two-year interval. This can lead to a renewed perspective on previously established characters and their growth, as well as the introduction of new voices in a beloved series. Understanding these nuances not only enhances the reading experience but also deepens the connection readers build with the characters and storylines. As readers, observing these changes invites discussions around the artistic choices authors make and encourages a broader understanding of literary evolution in modern storytelling.
