how to be kingdom minded 🩷
This post was inspired my pastor’s sermon at church this Sunday.
Here’s what he touched on:
• don’t judge others or stare with bitter eyes. For which you aren’t perfect & everyone is deserving of love! Look at others as Jesus would look at you.
• be willing to give to others without expecting anything in return. The analogy he used was you can’t reap/sow while your hands are closed. Open up your hands, minds, and worship! ( get to give)
• you must also want to BE like Jesus, aka Christ-like. God’s will is ultimately what’s best for you. Our flesh fails us on the daily. So, im order to benefit ourselves and those around us we must THRIVE to be think, love, and act as Jesus would.
• lastly, I want heaven to invade my space! I want to be overwhelmed with the goodness of God. Instead of living your week in misery or in poor spirits you must allow heaven to invade your space. Worship! Dance! Interact! Whatever you must do in order to express what heaven does. Rejoice in who our father is!

Building on the inspiring message of living a kingdom-minded life, I've been reflecting deeply on what it truly means to align our hearts and actions with God's ways. It’s more than just a Sunday sermon; it’s a daily transformation that impacts every aspect of our lives. One foundational aspect is our EYES & PERSPECTIVE. The original post mentioned not judging others, and Philippians 2:3-7 truly unpacks this, urging us to consider others better than ourselves. For me, this means actively practicing empathy. Instead of quick judgments, I try to pause and imagine what someone else might be going through. It’s about cultivating a heart that sees people as Jesus sees them – full of potential and deserving of grace, even when they’re struggling. This shift in perspective is crucial for genuinely being kingdom minded. Then there’s the WILLING SPIRIT. The idea of giving without expecting anything in return, as beautifully illustrated by 2 Corinthians 9:6-8, really challenges me. It's easy to give when we anticipate a reward, but true kingdom giving is about generosity for generosity's sake. I’ve found that when I open my hands – metaphorically and sometimes literally – to bless others, whether it's with my time, resources, or even just a kind word, my own spirit feels lighter and more abundant. This practice actually helps counteract a "poor in spirit" feeling, which isn't about being financially poor, but rather a spiritual emptiness or a feeling of helplessness. When we give from a place of love, we experience the richness of God's provision and purpose, moving away from that scarcity mindset. Aligning with GOD'S WILL is another cornerstone. Ephesians 4:22-24 encourages us to put off our old selves and be renewed in our minds. In my own journey, this often looks like praying for guidance in big decisions, but also in small, daily choices. It's about asking, "What would Jesus do here? What would honor God?" rather than just following my immediate impulses. This constant striving to have God's ways over my own is an ongoing process, and it helps me grow closer to His heart. It's not about perfection, but about the sincere desire to align my wants with His ultimate plan for good. Finally, allowing HEAVEN TO INVADE YOUR SPACE (Matthew 6:9-10) is a concept that truly excites me. It means bringing the joy, peace, and love of God's kingdom into my everyday environment. This isn't just about worship in church; it's about finding moments to dance, sing, pray, or simply express gratitude in my living room, at work, or even in traffic. It's about being an example to others by living out these kingdom principles. When I actively choose to rejoice and invite God's presence, I find that my week is transformed from one of potential misery into one filled with purpose and hope. This proactive approach to spiritual well-being is a powerful way to combat feelings of being "poor in spirit" and instead live a life overflowing with God's goodness. Embracing these scriptures on kingdom mindset provides a practical roadmap for living a truly blessed and impactful life.
