Should my socials stay mine?
My company just rolled out a new rule, every employee has to post one ad for our products on their personal social media during workdays and it actually counts toward our KPI. On weekends, they say it’s “encouraged” but management definitely wants us to keep posting then too.
Last night, I was lying in bed scrolling through my phone, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it is stepping into my private life. I know It’s part of what I’m paid to do, and hitting that KPI means I’m doing my job right. But like work stays at work, life stays at life, and my personal social media should be mine, not a company billboard.
I feel like it blurs the line between professional and private. Should I fight to keep my social space to myself?
