Do I need to accept this is temporary?
My 1.5 year old has been stuck in this phase where she only clings to my husband and even though I know it’s “typical toddler stuff” (kids go through these stages), it’s dragged on for months now and it’s really tearing me up.
Today, we were playing outside and she took a little tumble. She wasn’t hurt badly, just shaken but she got mad at me out of nowhere. She pushed my comfort away screaming for dad instead of letting me hold her. It felt like a punch to the gut. I pour so much into being present and right now it feels like all that love isn’t enough. I’m her mom, but lately, I don’t feel like the parent she turns to when she needs it most.
Has any other mom gone through a toddler’s “dad-only” phase? How did you cope with the heartache?

Every day around 3pm my 1 year old wants nothing to do with me. Sometimes it’s all day lol. I hate those days. But it is just a phase. A hurtful phase though. Sending you hugs until she starts hugging you again ❤️
