Grilled Fish Keisuke - Tanjong Pagar

A new shop has taken over the previous tendon shop at TP, and they specialise in grilled fish. The grilled fish is tender and flaky, and i inhaled so much of the free side dishes such as cabbage, spicy mustard, mentaiko squid and beef!! It is such a rare occurrence to see meat and seafood given for free. The rice and miso soup were also free flow. Shoutout to them for retaining the famous tempura egg and including it in the set - it was crispy on the outside and the yolk oozes out over the rice.

The ochazuke after was extremely flavourful as well and I drank at least 3 bowls of it.

The cod fish was approx $28 whereas the miso salmon was $23.

Would totally return again, especially if I’m looking for a healthy balanced meal in the CBD ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Besides the main grilled fish dishes priced around $23 to $28, one unique delight is the free-flow rice and miso soup, which makes the meal both fulfilling and wallet-friendly. What stood out to me was the variety of complimentary side dishes. From tender mentaiko squid to slightly spicy mustard greens and even a bit of beef, the selection offers a rare combination of meat and seafood freebies, adding great variety to your plate. The tempura egg—crispy on the outside with a luscious runny yolk—is a must-try that enhances the rice beautifully. A special mention goes to the ochazuke, a Japanese rice soup that I found extremely flavorful, especially after a hearty meal. It’s comforting and light, making it perfect to end the dining experience. The condiments provided let you customize it to your taste, which I appreciated. The setting is casual and perfect for a healthy, balanced meal right in the CBD area. Whether you're a fish lover or just looking for a wholesome lunch option with generous portions and thoughtful touches, this place is worth your visit. Reserve ahead if you can, as it’s gaining popularity rapidly!
