Fearing and hungering

Hey fellow F&H fans! So glad to be here chatting about one of my favorite (and most terrifying) games, Fear & Hunger 2: Termina. If you're like me, you've probably spent countless hours trying to figure out the best way to survive Prehevil, especially when playing as Marcoh. He's such a unique character with his bare-knuckle brawling style, and mastering his build can really turn the tide. I've done a few playthroughs with Marcoh, and I really want to share what I've found to be the absolute best choices to make him a formidable force, even against the most grotesque enemies. From his starting skills to late-game strategies, every decision counts in Termina, so let's break down how to get the most out of our favorite pugilist. Early Game Focus: Mastering the Brawler When you first start with Marcoh, his immediate strength lies in his fists. Don't underestimate them! His unique skill, 'Pugilist,' is essential. It lets him deal significantly more damage with bare hands or brass knuckles. My first tip: prioritize upgrading this. While other characters might scramble for weapons, Marcoh can truly shine in the early game by conserving resources and punching his way through most basic encounters. Another crucial early-game choice is 'Counter.' Being able to counter enemy attacks not only saves you damage but also provides free hits. Pair this with 'Salvage' to get extra items from defeated enemies, which is a lifesaver for crafting and healing in such a resource-scarce game. For me, these three skills form the core of a strong Marcoh build right out of the gate. Don't forget to grab those Brass Knuckles as soon as you can find or craft them – they’re a game-changer for his damage output. Mid-Game Evolution: Expanding His Utility As you progress, Marcoh needs more than just brute force. I've found that investing in skills that provide utility and enhance his survivability makes a huge difference. 'Lockpicking' might seem random for a brawler, but trust me, gaining access to locked chests and doors early can yield incredible gear and crucial lore. It opens up so many possibilities for exploration and finding rare items without wasting precious keys. Consider 'Bear Trap' as well. Setting up traps can turn tough encounters into manageable ones, especially against enemies with multiple body parts or those that charge. It's a fantastic way to control the battlefield and conserve mind points (MP) and health. Marcoh has decent body stats, so he can usually take a hit while setting up, making this a viable strategy. Late-Game Dominance: Strategic Choices & Rher's Mark Towards the later stages of Termina, your choices for Marcoh should revolve around maximizing his damage and ensuring he can support the team (if you have one) or stand alone. 'Marksmanship' might seem odd but being able to use a rifle effectively as a backup can be invaluable, especially against flying or distant enemies. Also, making sure you have good armor is key; Marcoh can wear some of the best heavy armor, turning him into a tank. And let's not forget Marcoh's unique Rher's Mark. This isn't a choice you make, but how you deal with it is. Understanding its effects and potentially seeking out the 'God of Fear and Hunger' to remove it (or embrace it for specific builds) is a huge late-game decision. Personally, I often try to remove it unless I'm going for a very specific, high-risk build.
