It stings.

You show up. You work hard.

You don’t ask for handouts.

You’ve been through more than most, and you’ve survived it.

But somehow, it’s him who gets the praise.

Him who gets the job, the girl, the break.

And it stings.

Not because you hate him —

but because part of you wonders if you’re ever going to be enough.

That feeling?

That’s jealousy — and it’s eating you alive while pretending it’s “motivation.”

James 3:16 puts it like this:

"Where there is envy and selfish ambition, there is disorder and every evil thing."

Jealousy is a slow poison.

It’ll have you hating your brother when you should be fighting the real enemy.

It’ll have you chasing what’s not yours while losing what is.

You don’t need to be him.

You need to be the man God built you to be.

So what do you do?

🔹 Call it out. If jealousy’s hiding in your chest, drag it into the light.

🔹 Stop trying to prove yourself to people who don’t matter.

🔹 Get in the Word and let God remind you who you are — not who you're trying to keep up with.

🔹 Keep building. Keep showing up. God doesn’t waste hard work done in silence.

You don’t need more attention.

You need more focus.

Let go of the scoreboard.

This ain’t a race.

It's a calling.

Who are you trying to outdo — and is it worth losing yourself over?
