No Room for His Word 😔
Jesus didn’t sugarcoat. He looked religious people in the eye and said, “You’re supposed to be God’s people, but you want me dead because you’ve got no room for my word” (John 8:37).
Think about that. They had the titles. They knew the Scriptures. They looked holy on the outside. But when Jesus showed up, they didn’t actually want Him. His word had no space in their hearts.
Now flip the mirror. How many of us call ourselves Christians but leave no room for His word? We scroll TikTok for hours, but can’t spare 5 minutes for Scripture. We know lyrics to a hundred songs, but can’t quote one verse that gives life. We say we love God, but when His word calls out our sin, we shut it down.
Here’s the raw truth: if there’s no room for His word in your life, you’re not following Jesus—you’re following yourself. The Pharisees thought they were children of Abraham, but Jesus told them they were acting like children of the devil (John 8:44). That’s how serious this is.
So what do you do?
Clear space. Cut the noise. Shut down the stuff that fills your head with junk so God’s word can get in.
Make time. Even if it’s one verse a day—open it, read it, let it sink in.
Let it confront you. Don’t just read what makes you feel good. Let Scripture expose sin, challenge your pride, and call you to change.
Live it. Room for the word means action. If it doesn’t move your hands and feet, you’re just faking it.
Don’t just wear the Christian name and leave Jesus outside. Make room. Empty whatever you have to. His word isn’t background noise—it’s life.
