Do you know what happiness looks like?
“I’ll be happy when I get that truck.” “When I make real money.” “When everyone finally respects me.” “When I’ve got a smokin’ hot wife and kids.” “When I’m not broke anymore.”
It’s easy to think happiness comes when you finally “make it.” But what happens when you do—and it still feels empty?
You get the job, the house, the girl… and deep down, you’re still not satisfied. That’s because happiness built on stuff, status, or people never lasts. It’s built on shifting ground. You can’t hold peace together with paychecks and validation.
Jesus said in Luke 12:15, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” He’s saying—life’s not about what you get, it’s about Who you know.
The truth is, sin always overpromises and underdelivers. The chase for more, better, faster—it’ll wear you out. You’ll win by the world’s standards and still feel like you lost.
Real joy isn’t found in getting everything you wanted. It’s found when you realize Jesus is everything you needed. He’s the One who gives worth that doesn’t depend on status. The One who loves you at your lowest and leads you into something real.
Philippians 3:8 says, “I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.”
Bro, success won’t fix your soul. The girl can’t complete you. The money can’t fill the hole. Only Jesus can.
