🌑 The Dark Moon 🌑
The Dark Moon is the time when the Moon is completely dark and not visible. This is a very short phase just before the crescent sliver of the New Moon emerges.
It is a time of deep stillness, reflection and release. It is quiet, introspective and full of shadow energy. The energy of the Dark Moon is ideal for inner work, rest and preparation for renewal.
During the Dark Moon phase, I like to intentionally slow down and create a nurturing space for myself. This period feels like a gentle invitation to rest deeply—taking naps, soaking in a warm bath, or simply enjoying quiet walks reconnects me with my inner world. Shadow work is powerful during this time. I journal about feelings or issues I’ve been avoiding, approaching them with self-compassion rather than control. This practice has helped me heal old wounds and gain clarity. Dreams can become more vivid now; keeping a dream journal has allowed me to capture messages that provide guidance. For added insight, I often turn to divination tools such as tarot cards, pendulums, or runes. Asking thoughtful internal questions during the Dark Moon helps me understand where I am and what needs attention before the new cycle begins. Honoring this time as an opportunity for quiet reflection and release has transformed how I interact with my emotional and spiritual self. Integrating Dark Moon energy into my routines encourages renewal, balance, and personal growth, making each lunar cycle more meaningful and intentional.
