Easy Thermite Strat
Hey R6 squad! I wanted to share my go-to Thermite strategy that's made 'heated metal' breaches feel almost effortless for me and my team. If you've ever wondered how to consistently make those reinforced walls disappear and secure a fast entry, this is what I've learned from countless hours in game. Thermite’s Exothermic Charge is absolutely crucial for attacking certain sites. That satisfying crunch when you pop open a reinforced wall with Thermite’s gadget, creating that 'heated metal' effect, is key to opening up new lines of sight and pushing objectives. But it's not always as simple as just slapping a charge on the wall, right? I've had my fair share of charges destroyed by Bandit or Kaid. The real secret to an easy Thermite strat, in my experience, is synergy. You can't be a lone wolf. My best 'fast Thermite entry' plays always involve a Thatcher or a Kali. Thatcher's EMPs are gold for disabling defender gadgets, letting you place your charge without worries. If Thatcher is banned, Kali’s LV Explosive Lance can be just as effective, often creating a small hole you can peek through before placing your charge. Maverick is another great alternative, but he requires a bit more finesse and time. We usually coordinate a drone phase first to check for electro-claws or bandit batteries. Once the hard-breach denial is dealt with, timing is everything for a quick push. You want to get that 'heated metal' wall open and create pressure. I often try to open common angles, like big walls into bomb sites. For example, on certain maps, pushing an "EXT Eastern Sub-root" type of wall can completely change the flow of a round. It's about map knowledge and knowing where to apply that pressure. Now, let's talk about those chaotic moments, especially around the defuser. I can't tell you how many times I've heard the callout, "YOUR TEAM DROPPED THE DEFUSER!" It’s happened to all of us. As a Thermite player, sometimes you’re the one who needs to pick it up. My advice? Don't panic. If you're pushing a 'fast Thermite entry' and the defuser gets dropped in a risky spot, communicate with your teammates. See if someone can create a distraction or a smoke screen. You might need to temporarily abandon the breach and prioritize getting to "PICK UP THE DEFUSER" safely. A lost defuser means a lost round, no matter how many walls you've opened. My personal strategy usually involves securing the breach, then having a support player clear rooms while I either cover the plant or plant the defuser myself if I have it. Communication is paramount: "Thermite going for the wall, need Thatcher!" or "Defuser dropped, pushing to pick it up from my spawn." Good comms can overcome even high latency issues, because everyone knows the plan. Another thing I've learned is to adapt. If your initial 'heated metal' breach is too risky, don't force it. Look for alternative entry points or ways to pressure the defenders. Sometimes a soft breach can create a diversion allowing your hard breach to go through. So, if you're looking to consistently pull off those crucial 'heated metal' breaches and ensure your team can plant the defuser, remember: teamwork, gadget synergy, smart timing for a 'fast Thermite entry', and always being ready to "PICK UP THE DEFUSER" if chaos strikes. It’s all about making those game-winning plays. Give this strategy a try in your next game – it's really boosted my win rate with Thermite!
