My hormones are a lil whack these few days with it being that time of the month soon - but I’m glad I’ve been doing my best to make healthier choices with food! Be it through cooking and packing to work or choosing steamed options over fried - and also not eating so much fried food and avoiding eggs where possible🙏🏼
I’ve also been experimenting between cooking the night before and in the morning itself - I find that I prefer cooking in the morning, but it’s a little tough on some mornings😅
I really want to try making bento kind of food though! Rice with meat, veg, etc. - will try it soon☺️

... Read moreManaging food choices during hormonal fluctuations can be challenging, but I’ve found that focusing on balanced meals packed with nutrients helps me feel more in control. For example, incorporating black beans and sardines not only provides protein but also essential omega-3 fatty acids that support mood and inflammation regulation.
Cooking timing is another important factor for me. While I prefer cooking fresh in the morning, some days it’s just easier to prepare meals the night before, especially when mornings are hectic. This trade-off helps me stay consistent with healthy eating without feeling overwhelmed.
I also experimented with psyllium husk tortillas, which are high in fiber and help with digestion—a great choice during those times when hormones affect my gut. Though my first attempt wasn’t perfect, it encouraged me to keep trying new healthy recipes.
Trying to reduce fried foods and avoiding eggs was a conscious decision to ease hormonal symptoms, and choosing steamed or lightly cooked vegetables helped me feel lighter and more energized. Adding snacks like walnuts and apples kept my energy up throughout the day.
Lastly, I’m excited to explore creating bento-style meals combining rice, vegetables, and meat or tofu. This approach adds variety and convenience, making it easier to enjoy balanced, portion-controlled meals whether at work or home.
By sharing my ongoing journey with healthy eating habits, I hope to inspire others dealing with similar challenges to find personalized strategies that work for them.
