let’s talk about my red hair phase 🤣❤️

... Read moreSo many of us dream of having that vibrant, fiery red hair, and I was definitely one of them! The 'red hair phase' is super popular for a reason – it’s bold, it’s beautiful, and it makes a statement. But before you dive in, let me share a bit more than just my traumatic experience. There's a whole spectrum of red hair colors out there! You have your fiery coppers (which I'm still dreaming of, despite my past!), deep burgundies, bright cherry reds, and even subtle auburns. Finding your perfect shade, whether it's a level 8 red hair or a more muted tone, depends so much on your skin undertones and personal style. One thing I learned (the hard way!) about red hair is the upkeep. Red is notorious for fading quickly. My go-to was always a deposit color because it was less damaging than permanent dyes, but even then, I found myself touching it up almost once a month just to maintain that vibrant pop. If you're considering a red hair phase, be ready for the commitment. Investing in color-safe shampoos and conditioners is a must, and using color-depositing masks can help extend the life of your shade between salon visits. Even with 'proper hair care,' my hair during my burgundy red phase still felt 'done done.' It taught me that while red can be stunning, it can also be incredibly demanding on your hair’s health. If you're going for a vibrant red, consider pre-treating your hair with bond-building treatments and regular deep conditioning. It’s not just about the color, but keeping your hair healthy underneath all that dye. My hair felt healthy out of all the colors I tried, but that specific burgundy was something else! If you want to avoid the 'trauma' I experienced, talk to your stylist about options for red hair that minimize damage, like semi-permanent dyes or balayage techniques that don't require dyeing your entire head. Patch testing is also crucial to ensure you get the exact shade you want without surprises. Don't rush into it; research 'red hair inspo' and different 'red hair color options' thoroughly. While my personal 'red head phase' ended with a bit of a scare, I still appreciate the beauty of red hair. Just make sure you're prepared for the journey and arm yourself with the right knowledge and products. Maybe one day I'll conquer my copper hair dream!
