🍿Popcorn Drift-small, cheerful, and easy to love
Popcorn Drift is part of the Drift® rose series, which includes varieties like Apricot Drift, Peach Drift, Sweet Drift, and more.
This one seems less common in Canada — I found mine purely by chance one summer at a Lowe’s garden center.
What caught my eye was how small and charming it looked.🫶
💛The blooms open a soft buttery yellow, then gradually fade into creamy white — simple, light, and very sweet.
Drift roses are compact shrub roses and rarely grow taller than 1 meter, making them perfect as low hedging, edging plants, or even container roses.
Popcorn Drift is extremely low-maintenance.
With just a bit of feeding, it blooms generously. I think it would look amazing planted in a row, though I only gave mine a small corner — I like trying a little bit of everything in my garden.🌱
Originally, this rose was planted under a maple tree in my front yard. The light wasn’t enough, and it struggled for a long time.
I eventually dug it up, grew it in a pot, and last summer planted it again in the backyard — right next to Olivia.
Surprisingly, the soft pink of Olivia and the butter-cream tones of Popcorn Drift complement each other beautifully.
Sometimes the best combinations happen by accident.
