🌸Cinderella Fairytale- She Needs a Territory

I first noticed Cinderella Fairytale at a friend’s garden.

She wasn’t loud, but she had presence — the kind that makes you stop and look twice.

Not long after, during rose season, I found her at Costco for $14.99.

I didn’t hesitate. I brought her home and planted her with quiet excitement.

Cinderella grows fast — surprisingly fast.

Within two months, she was already branching out, pushing healthy new canes.

With only light feeding, she produced generous buds and bloomed continuously.

She is almost effortless:

• no black spot

• no powdery mildew

• no clear separation between spring, summer, or fall flushes

She simply keeps forming buds and opening flowers.

Her blooms are not oversized, but they come in abundance.

Soft cup-shaped flowers in a delicate, clean pink — impossible to ignore.

If you are looking for a rose that is easy, reliable, and constantly in bloom,

Cinderella Fairytale absolutely belongs on that list.

But she comes with a condition.

Cinderella grows big.

Very big.

She can easily reach up to 3 meters, functioning as either a large shrub or a climber.

She needs space — a visible, generous space of her own. As a Kordes rose, she winters effortlessly in zone 5b, handles heat and full sun without complaint, and asks for very little in return.

By autumn, it became clear —

my garden was simply too small for her.

Cinderella kept growing, quietly but relentlessly,

claiming light, air, and space.

The roses beside her began to disappear into her shadow.

So I dug her out

and gave her to a friend

with a much larger backyard.

Some roses are not meant to be restrained.

They don’t fail in small gardens —

they just ask for more than we can give.

I still remember her scent on summer evenings,

that clean, gentle fruity fragrance.

For a while, we shared the same garden.

And that was enough. 🌿🌸

... Read moreIf you’re considering adding the Cinderella Fairytale rose to your garden, here are some tips from my experience that might help you get the best out of this impressive plant. First, give it room to grow. Cinderella Fairytale can reach up to 3 meters tall, so it needs a generous territory where it can sprawl without overshadowing other plants. I realized that despite its beauty and charm, my smaller garden limited its full potential, so it thrived best when moved to a larger backyard. Second, its low-maintenance nature makes it ideal even for those newer to rose gardening. It showed strong resistance to common rose diseases like black spot and powdery mildew without heavy feeding or chemical treatments. Light fertilizer application and regular watering during dry spells kept it blooming consistently from spring to fall. Third, consider its versatility: it can work either as a large shrub or a climber. With proper support, it can add vertical interest and a serene pink canopy effect, perfect for garden arbors or trellises. Lastly, don’t underestimate the fragrance. The gentle fruity scent was a delightful bonus for evening relaxation in my garden. It provided sensory enjoyment that complemented its visual appeal. Overall, if you have the space and want a stunning, reliable, and sweet-smelling rose, Cinderella Fairytale is definitely worth the investment. Just remember to plan your garden layout accordingly so this beauty can shine without crowding your other plants.
