Maybe you’ve stopped expecting good things.

Maybe you’ve stopped expecting good things because life has given you reasons to.

Disappointment has a way of teaching us to protect our hearts.

But sometimes healing begins when we allow ourselves to believe that not every surprise will hurt.

Not every phone call brings bad news.

Not every ending is a loss.

Not every day has to feel heavy.

Good things still happen. ♡

... Read moreFrom my own experience, I’ve found that when life feels heavy and disappointment seems constant, it’s natural to lower our expectations to protect our hearts. However, something meaningful happens when we choose to slowly open ourselves to the possibility of joy again. Healing doesn’t always require dramatic life changes or immediate fixes. Rather, it begins internally with a gentle shift in perspective—believing that not every surprise will hurt. This shift helped me appreciate small moments, like an unexpected phone call that turned out to bring good news, or a day that felt lighter despite the usual stresses. It reminded me that endings don't always mean loss; sometimes they mark new beginnings or opportunities for growth. Practicing self-compassion became key, allowing me to accept that it’s okay to feel vulnerable while trusting that gentler days can come. Incorporating mindfulness and mental health awareness into my daily routine supported this journey, encouraging me to be kinder to myself and to notice when my mind defaulted to negative expectations. Over time, this practice opened up space for hope to bloom again, reaffirming that good things still happen—even when we've stopped expecting them. Simply allowing yourself this chance is a powerful step toward healing and peace.
