WEEK IN MY LIFE AS A NOMAD

You know, one of the best parts about living this nomadic bus life is how every week brings a new set of memories, new landscapes, and countless picture-perfect moments. People often ask me what it’s really like, and while pictures tell a thousand words, there's always so much more to the story behind them. This past week was a prime example. We kicked it off with the usual routine, waking up in our beloved Amysta Beans (yes, that’s the name of our bus, which you might have seen on a rustic wooden sign!). Mornings usually involve getting the kitchen ready for breakfast. It’s amazing how efficient you become with your space when you have to pack up the kitchen and head out frequently. There’s a quiet satisfaction in seeing everything neatly stowed away, ready for the road. Then comes the journey! There's nothing quite like moving to another place in the bus. Axel, my partner, is often behind the wheel, and it’s always a fun time, watching the world go by. Sometimes, our dog Bub gets so comfy, he just falls asleep on my water bottle in the passenger seat – truly one of the most endearing sights! We’re often on the lookout for new spots, whether it’s a scenic overlook or a quiet patch of grass where our home on wheels fits right in amongst other RVs. Axel even loves taking pics of our fav people and the beautiful places we find. Even on the road, staying active is important! I managed to sneak in a mirror selfie in a gym locker room, which is a rare but welcome treat. It's all about finding those moments of normalcy amidst the extraordinary. One of the highlights of this week was definitely the community aspect. We had a fantastic bonfire for the last night of all our neighbors together. There’s such a strong bond among fellow nomads. We spread out a picnic table laden with snacks – chips, hot dog buns, all the fixings – a true 'bonfire spread'! It’s these shared evenings under the stars that really make this lifestyle special. We even had some fun making 'tiktoks' with my girl, capturing the laughter and good times. And you never know what you’ll encounter! Pulling into one of our spots, we were greeted by three beautiful horses grazing in a muddy pen. It’s those unexpected moments, like seeing horses just outside your window, that remind you why you chose this life. They might not always be the most glamorous scenes, but they are authentic and full of wonder. So, when you see pictures of nomadic life, know that each one represents a slice of a life lived deliberately, with intention and joy. It’s about the freedom of the open road, the warmth of community, the daily rhythm of packing and unpacking, and the simple beauty of a dog sleeping on a water bottle. It's truly a journey worth documenting, one snapshot at a time.
