Finding Friends in College 🫶

College can be a difficult time when trying to balance classes, work, clubs, and a social life! Trust me, I’ve been through it all.

Through all of this, I always found that having a great group of friends made the experience so much better. Having people to go through the high’s and low’s in college is so important! I met a lot of my friends freshman year through the dorms - but it took time to find the right people.

💌 You will certainly meet people who aren’t right for you in college- but don’t worry this is very normal and trust that you will meet people who are meant for YOU. It takes time and patience, but staying true to yourself will always be best.

It’s important to recognize that not every connection will be the perfect fit, and that’s completely normal. Some friends may come and go, while others become your support system through college’s highs and lows. Take time to get to know people without rushing the process; genuine friendships build gradually. Always stay authentic to who you are—this authenticity will attract friends who appreciate you for you. Equally, give yourself grace when navigating new social environments. Adjusting to college life is a journey, and being kind to yourself makes it more manageable. Remember, social success in college isn’t just about the number of friends but about quality and mutual support. Whether you meet friends in dorms, classrooms, or clubs, investing time and being open will enrich your college experience and help you form bonds that could last a lifetime.
