Help Your Kids Being Mindful Spenders

Ways you can teach your kids to be financially responsible at a young age:

•Start piggy banks- this helps them set goals for themselves like working to fill up the piggy bank with change/dollars. Then take a step further and open a kids savings account for their future.

•Let them wear the same couple of shoes- by doing this they will appreciate the shoes they have & will show them that having only a few pairs is just fine.

•Let them wear the same 3-4 outfits on repeat. This one is huge! It teaches them at a young age that having a small wardrobe & being an outfit repeater will not only curb their desire for new clothing on a regular basis, but its teaching them to not over consume as an adult

•Have them use the same backpack, lunch box, & water bottle year after year for school. If it’s not broken and still works why get something new? Selecting solid colors in all these items will ensure they can use them for years to come opposed to character lunchboxes and backpacks.

•Limit the amount of toys in your home.- having too many toys causes clutter and too much to manage for you and them, it creates overstimulation for your kiddo as well as you, and by having less it teaches your child to get outdoors & lets them use their imagination
