Found some Tallow!
I’ve never been big into moisturizers or lotions, usually because my skin is far too sensitive. Anything new usually results in hives or a breakout, but Tallow?
This Stuff Is Amazing!
It’s super soft and velvety , and has not given me any sort of reaction whatsoever. So far this is the first brand I’ve tried, and I honestly don’t even want to try another brand- although eventually I might 😅 The best part about the Tallow is;
It’s versatile, you can use it for many things!
Need hand lotion ?
Tallow !
Need a chapstick that won’t make your lips feel drier? Tallow!
Ran out of cuticle oil?
Tallow!
Dried out hair ?
Tallow!
It’s natural and can be made at home by rendering down beef fat- Might sound gross but so is slathering chemicals on your face. 🙃
Here are some fun facts about Tallow:
It has Vitamin A - anti aging properties
it has vitamin D - Anti inflammatory properties
it has vitamin E - protects the skin from free radicals and oxidative stress.
It has Vitamin K - Important for healing and reducing the appearance of scars, stretch marks, and dark spots.
It has amino acids that are essential for synthesizing collagen within the skin.
So don’t knock it until you try it ! Like all TikTok finds. Research before you try something. I looked into this before i tried it and I’m so happy I did! #tallow #face masks #moisturize #tallowskincare #tiktokfinds
Okay, so since I first raved about finding 'Whipped 100% Tallow' and how it changed my sensitive skin game, I've had so many questions! I wanted to dive a little deeper into why this stuff is such a game-changer and share some extra tips I've picked up. First off, let's talk more about those amazing vitamins. When I mentioned Vitamin A, D, E, and K, it's not just marketing fluff. Vitamin A in tallow is in its natural, bioavailable form, which means your skin can actually use it for cell regeneration – think anti-aging without the irritation some retinoids can cause. Vitamin D isn't just for bones; it plays a big role in skin cell growth and repair, helping to calm inflammation. And Vitamin E? It's a powerful antioxidant, protecting your skin from daily environmental stressors. Then there's Vitamin K, which I've noticed has really helped with evening out my skin tone and reducing the appearance of some old marks. It’s truly a powerhouse blend! Beyond the vitamins, tallow is packed with beneficial fatty acids like oleic acid, palmitic acid, and stearic acid. These are incredibly similar to the fatty acids naturally found in our skin's sebum. This 'biomimicry' is why tallow is so compatible with human skin – it helps strengthen your skin barrier without clogging pores or feeling greasy, which was always my issue with conventional lotions. My skin just drinks it up! You know how I mentioned its versatility? Let me share a few more ways I've integrated it into my routine. For dry patches on my elbows or knees, a small amount of this '100% Grass-Fed and Finished Organic Beef Tallow' works wonders overnight. I even dab a tiny bit under my eyes before bed, and I swear it helps with fine lines. For hair, don't overdo it! A pea-sized amount emulsified in my hands and run through the ends of damp hair acts as a fantastic leave-in conditioner, taming frizz without weighing it down. Now, about finding the right tallow. I found mine as a 'TIKTOK SHOP FIND!' from 'Good Ol' Days Tallow Co.', and I've been so happy with it. When you're looking, try to find products that specify 'grass-fed and finished organic beef tallow' because the nutritional profile is much richer, just like the one I use. If you’re adventurous, rendering your own beef fat at home is totally an option, as the original post mentioned! It might sound daunting, but there are tons of tutorials online, and it’s a great way to ensure purity. Just make sure to source high-quality, organic suet. Some people might still think it sounds a bit "gross" to put animal fat on your skin. But honestly, our ancestors used animal fats for skincare for centuries before chemical-laden products became the norm. It’s returning to simple, effective, and natural ingredients. For me, someone who spent years battling reactions to everything from expensive creams to "natural" plant-based lotions, discovering tallow, even if it cost me $18.00 USD, has been a revelation. It’s proof that sometimes, the simplest solutions are the best. Don't knock it 'til you try it – your skin might just thank you!
