Additionally, I found that engaging in simple, purposeful activities like deep-cleaning my kitchen or practicing coffee making gave me a refreshing break from screens and boosted my mindfulness. I also repotted a dying peace lily and repainted a water-damaged plant pot — activities that connected me with nature and reminded me of the importance of care and patience, both in nursing education and life. Reading meaningful books such as "Little Women" and thought-provoking articles like "Restoring Our Humanity" by John Macmurray by the seaside helped me reconnect with myself and improved my focus. These small lifestyle changes not only enhanced my study motivation and academic performance but also restored my sense of calm and humanity amid the pressures of medical and nursing school. If you’re feeling overwhelmed with endless scrolling and digital distraction, I recommend trying these practical steps to create balance, improve mental clarity, and live more intentionally every day.
