I've used old fleece blankets, denim from worn-out jeans, or even sturdy canvas tote bags I found on sale. Lay your chosen fabric over the platform, trim it with a few inches to spare around the edges, and then use your staple gun to pull it taut and secure it underneath. Overlap your staples for extra durability, especially in areas your cat frequently jumps on.
