TIGER HUNTING PT2 🏹🐅
My first duel in the T34, King Tiger got smoked out 😂

Wow, what an intense match! I still can't believe I managed to take down a King Tiger in my T34. It was my first proper tank duel where I felt like I truly outplayed my opponent, and honestly, the adrenaline rush was insane! Fighting a King Tiger in War Thunder is always a daunting prospect. Those things are absolute beasts – especially the Henschel turret version with its thick frontal armor. You see "Achtung! Panzer!" pop up and your heart starts racing. Most players know their frontal plate is almost impenetrable to many guns at their battle rating, and their 88mm KwK 43 cannon can one-shot almost anything it hits. I’ve been on the receiving end of that cannon many times! But the T34 isn't just some pushover, either. My T34 has that fantastic 85mm gun, which, while not as powerful as the King Tiger's 88, can still pack a punch if you know where to aim. The key for me was mobility and finding those weak spots. When I spotted the King Tiger, it was in a somewhat exposed position, trying to push through a choke point. I knew a head-on engagement would be suicide. So, I decided to try for a flank. I used the terrain to my advantage, hugging cover and trying to get around its side. The King Tiger is slow to turn its hull, and even slower to traverse its turret. That's its biggest weakness, especially if you can surprise it. I managed to get a good angle on its side armor, specifically near the turret ring and the lower hull plate. My first shot didn't quite penetrate fully, but it damaged its tracks, slowing it down even more. That was my moment! With its mobility compromised, I pushed closer, putting myself in a position where I could aim precisely. My next shot hit its side armor, and then I heard that glorious sound – "MMUNITION EXPL"! Total ammo rack detonation! "Target destroyed!" flashed on my screen. What a feeling! It wasn't just a kill; it was a demonstration of patience and understanding the tanks. If you're ever in a T34 facing a King Tiger, my advice is: don't panic. Don't go head-to-head unless you absolutely have to, and even then, aim for the commander's cupola or the driver's port if you can. Your best bet is to use your superior mobility to get to its flanks or rear. Even a well-aimed shot to the turret ring or engine deck can cripple it. And always, always prioritize taking out its gunner or cannon barrel if you can't get a killing blow. It buys you precious time! This "Tiger Hunting" expedition was definitely a success, and it just shows that even against superior armor, smart play can win the day. Keep practicing, and you'll be smoking out those King Tigers too!
