Hey fellow tankers! So, you saw my quick post about taking down my first Jagdtiger in my T34, and honestly, it was such a rush! That duel was swift and decisive, but it definitely taught me a few things about tackling those heavy German tank destroyers. If you're looking for a bit of a 'trainer' session on how to handle these beasts, I’ve got some insights from my experience. First off, let's talk about the Jagdtiger. This thing is a monster, especially from the front. Its armor is incredibly thick, and that 88mm gun it packs? "Ohp, that's an 88..." is usually my first thought when I see one, because it can seriously punch through most tanks with ease. If you try to go head-on with a T34 against a Jagdtiger, you’re often looking at a "Womp Womp" situation. Their frontal plate is almost impenetrable to anything but the highest caliber guns or perfectly aimed shots at tiny weak spots. So, what's the T34's advantage? Mobility! While not the fastest medium, it's certainly more agile than a Jagdtiger. My winning strategy always revolves around flanking. Never, ever engage a Jagdtiger from the front if you can help it. Instead, use cover, exploit terrain, and wait for an opportunity to get to its sides. This is where you can make it a "Fire Buggy's" day! Once you're on its side, aim for the drive wheel or tracks first. Immobilizing it is key. This prevents it from turning its hull to face you, exposing its strong front again. After it's stuck, you have a few options. Aim for the hull side, specifically where the ammunition racks are located. Getting a "MUNITION EXPL" is the most satisfying way to take out a Jagdtiger. If you can't hit the ammo, target the crew compartments or engine deck for critical damage. Remember, patience is crucial here; don't rush your shots. What if you get hit? It happens to the best of us. If you take a critical hit but are still operational, immediately seek cover. Find a hard obstacle or a dip in the terrain. Then, assess the damage. If you need to repair, remember to "hold to start repairing the ground vehicle." Don't just sit there in the open, or you'll be a sitting duck. Sometimes, it's better to retreat and repair than to stay and get finished off. And hey, not every encounter will be a decisive win. There will be times when you get outmaneuvered or simply outgunned. If that happens, don't get discouraged! Think of it as a learning experience. "Try Again," as the game says, and think about what you could have done differently "Next Time." War Thunder is all about learning from your mistakes and refining your tactics. Every battle, win or lose, makes you a better player. So, next time you're out there in your T34 and spot a Jagdtiger, remember these tips. Use your mobility, hit their weak spots, and stay frosty! Good luck, and happy hunting!
